I have a couple in their late 40's next door the bloke is in IT and the woman is a secondary school teacher.
It would appear that she may be going through the menopause the clue being random latenight/early morning (3am) scream fests of her basically crying and shouting at her husband about not "being able to do it any more"..
At first I just accepted it and hoped a bit of lithium or some powerful tranqualizers would sort her out but alas it continues.
So I'm in a bit of a prediciment do I continue to show compassion or next time she's screaming at the top of her voice at three in the fucking morning do I go round there and tell her to shut the fuck up?
Answers on a postcard!

Police are not so bad round here. I've had to ring before about something similar and they turned up quickly so saw and heard what was going on for themselves.

If I said something like "I think my neighbour is being attacked and she just screamed something about a gun", they would be there in seconds.

Use without the gun part, but say there is a huge row going on next door and you think the women may be being beaten up.
They will be there in a shot!!

Women being beaten up, you would be suprised. Its high on the police prioritys is domestic violence. Rows they don't care, but add that you think shes being beaten up and its taken VERY seriously!

Id say go round there before/after work and have a word saying you don't appreciate hearing them at 3am in the morning. I'm in a similar position with my neighbour but it's their 3month old baby crying at 3am so think i'm gonna give it a year first

Get a detached house.
Why are domestics a priority?
If he's just punched her lights out fair enough but not because of a bit of screaming.
