ever since i bought the car if i accelerated in 1st gear and took my foot off the throttle without gearing up, the car would kangaroo quite harshly. Not high redline revs, i havent got a tacho so i dont know
ive never done it deliberately and frequently but i once noticed it does it...
Now more recently if im say doing about 5mph and put my foot on the throttle, sometimes theres a knocking noise and a bit of a delay before it starts acceleration but not a massive dead spot. Not a backfire noise more of a mechanical knock?
And more recently im noticing when i put my foot on the throttle theres a wierd scraping kinda noise not just in motion but also when i rev in neutral, and only when my foot is on the throttle. Doesnt do it coming down in revs just going up.
Oil is at the correct level, and is about 3,000 since last service. Car drives ok otherwise
Any ideas?

Not sure about the rest of it but I can tell you the kangarooing is normal, you have to learn to use the throttle gently when lifting off. It'll come with practice.

do you get flat spots around the same time as well? possibly the idle air control valve?
