Write to the council asking for their insurance details for a high ways claim then write to the insurer.

Hi Davey, mum took a ruler with her and took pics showing the depth and width etc. The guy from the Council said he would send out a form

I'm just wondering how the Council decide who's eligible to get the damage paid for and who's not ?

I hit one and popped my tyre and snapped my coilover in half

Car was off the road for weeks trying to get a replacement shock in which time I had to insure another car.

Done the whole letter writing thing, took pics etc.

Made no difference, just told me tough luck basically

need some good pic's!!

mate of mine was driving over epsom downs and his mate hit a pot hole, ripped 2 wheels off and smashed the suspension off the car, he hit it and duffed his suspension and seriously buckled his steel rims,

he got a pay out after taking them to cort and his mate got a large pay out as it wrote his car off..

If it's done damage to a standard road car they should pay out. They seem to get arsey if your car is lowered and then it breaks.

The Insurance Claim form has arrived from the council. One of the questions is -

PERSONAL INSURANCE DETAILS - Are you insured for this type of damage? Then they go on to ask for my brothers insurance details? He's not wanting this to go through his insurance, will I have to provide them with this info?

Good luck getting anything. I know a few people including myself who have tried to claim after getting damage from a pothole. And we all got absolutely no where. That may just be Fife Council though, there pretty useless at anything!

I'm not holding my breath tbh Plus my mum reported it to the Council on Monday, and the hole was still there untouched last night.

Yes

It was the black Cooper, we only had it a day and I drove straight into a hole in the road and burst the tyre. We just went and bought a new tyre, never bothered chasing the Council for compensation. My brothers not as soft as me!
