Hi,
As theres afew geeks on here, do any of you run a watercooled setup?.
was it a PITA to do, or straight forward?.
im getting fed up of fans going all day long, and want something reliable yet quiet.
regards
Callum

I was watercooled before, got fed up maintaining it.
My system was almost silent, so quiet that you couldn't tell if it was on or off.
Got fed up and now just have a couple of fans running at 5v, not that much louder and zero maintenance.

never run watercooled, but as above - really not necessary. get a decent case and that will cut out a lot of noise straight away, then get big fans (120mm) run at a low speed.... you could also then go passive for your graphics card and such, just make sure you have good airflow through the case

forgot to mention, i have a couple of 120mm fans in the case, stock fan on the graphics card, all in an antec p180 and i can barely hear it when it's on.

Well, im currently running a 25-30% overclock, and my systems running 24/7.
I recently bought a corsair 800d case, which has superb airflow.
Ive just chopped in my gtx260's (which were quite quiet) for a pair of 4770's and they make an absolute racket when going.

rip the fans off, stick some heatsinks on there. i just got a 5770 and it's not too bad, but will be making it passive at some point

Me and my bro have both seriously considered watercooled but in the end apart from the geeky coolness of it there didnt seem a great need, like mentioned a good case with some decent fans will be equally as quiet and not that much hotter

I went for a 'corsair h50', suits my needs ideally.
Temps dropped over 5*c per core under full load.
Only noise is when going from idle to load theres a slight gurgle from the pump - think i may have the rad upside down

If it's not upside down then it's classed as a faulty unit as they didn't seal it properly.
I've got a Domino A.L.C. and it was quite gurgly the first day I had it and hasn't made a noise since

but they do mention in the vid it can go either way
PS Water and electrics freaks me out. Not sure I'd wanna install one inside my PC. I know they are sealed but I'm paranoid

LOL serves me right for flicking thru the vid with no sound on!
There's a review of the cooler I have on youtube and he does a follow up because he weakened one of the pipes and it leaked all over his machine
