Do we even take sides when watching a war film? All depends on the main characters and protagonist.

Watch Der Untergang/The Downfall and due to the excellent acting and screenplay, you begin to empathise with Hitler

The watch them pretty impartially. Most of my colleagues went to see Inglorious Basterds when it came out, thought it was a good film but didn't get hung up on sides.

It's the same as us watching something like Enemy at the Gates with Germans against Russians. You tend to relate to the individual characters, not the bigger picture.

Having said that, I very much doubt that even the most patriotic German would be rooting for the Nazis (allowing for the extremists of course).

I've got to say, I couldn't help myself but picture you giving that eloquent speech in a slightly hysterical, shouty and aggressive tone, sporting a side parting and funny little moustache, stood at a podium outdoors in front of a huge crowd of germans, whilst punctuating your words by repeatedly bringing your clenched fist down on the podium.

Please don't have me shot/gassed.

Yes, I have my standard issue Wehrmacht underpants on right now.

My shelf is now covered in all sorts of 1:32 scale German equipment, I have a King Tiger, a Sd.Kfz. 7 half track, a PaK 43 and a Me262.

No British or American as it's boring and generally shit.

lostboy, you remind me of my cousins - they have loads of Nazi and WW2 items (grenades, uniforms, bayonets/knives) including a Thompson (pretty heavy considering), Bren and a US pistol (forgotten name), all obviously disabled (). I think one of them does WW1/WW2 reenactments as well.....

I fucking am from Durham.

[Spelling Nazi]If you had put a comma between "not" and "being" that would have made sense[/Spelling Nazi]

Anyone see what I did there?
