Only thing the plumber told me is that the diy kits don't cut a big enough hole in the pipe so flow is restricted a bit.

I would rather do it in copper than a DIY kit and probably wont cost much more for a plumber to do it anyway.

oh ok so to get more foam i put about an inch of snow foam in then top up with hot water and it should foam alot more than that,when you say hot water do you mean warm,and also do i fill the bottle right up with water or just half as i had a quik go the other day and filled it rite up and i only used half,also whats the best snow foam to get that really foams up and is good what do you use??

Thats the best way, easy to do, can get copper fittings with the solder already in so just clean, flux up, assemble and heat up and thats it soldered.

hot or warm it dont matter too much but fill it right up to the top. use the whole bottle on the car but as soon as it starts going watery stop spraying it on the car

you fill it right up the neck of the bottle, you dont have to use the full bottle, just how much you need to cover the car, on the lowest setting a full bottle will last me 3 or 4 washes and on the highest it will do 2

edit - i use the super snow foam from http://shop.autobritedirect.co.uk/foam-lances--foam-pre-wash-15-c.asp and its pretty good
