would you, do you ever go to the pub to read a book and take your time about things ?
or are you just in the pub to drink ?

i have found that spending an afternoon going to just 2 pubs (spending a few hours in each) and only having a few pints is one of the most chilled things ever
especially if its a week day or a sunday.. get to pub around 1pm and move onto next one around 3pm and have a bite to eat..

me and a couple of mates have done this before.. bring your laptop, daily papers/mags/book and just chill

thats usually only a sunday thing after a night out. go to the Clog, take a couple of news papers, have a mega breakfast and chill out. it's great in the summer too as the pub in question is a good 40 minute stroll away.

I always feel rather sorry for the people who come into my work on their own and read magazines or a book

You would be a laughing stock if you went in my local and read a book. Its full of the same nobs every night, must not have a home to go to and dont seem to be able to survive with out alcohol.

Wish it had a bit more class then I'd spend a bit more time there.

Its strange cos I live in a nice area but the pub is a let down.

Its nice to chill out in a 'proper' local pub.. But most pubs are just hectic places
