Me and some friends want to buy a car it has tax not no Mot, my friend seems to think that we can park it on the road if its NOT being driven and its taxed, is this correct? I was under the impression that the car needed both tax and MOT to be on the road.

We just want to park it on the road while we are away for a few months, using it as a bit of a project. Its not going to be driven at all.

You can park it so long as has tax and insurance although that's going to blow the budget somewhat if you're not using it.

You would be better with it off the road and secure and don't tax or insure it until it's ready to be used.

Edit - just read that you didn't mention insurance. It needs insurance to be on the road.

The full story is that me and some uni friend's want to buy a car and work on it as a project. We want to buy it now, we can park it on some off road parking on private land what came with my rented house.

The problem is when we break up for summer hoildays, just need to leave it somewhere for 3 months. No-one can afford to take with them etc.

So any idea's???

What are going to do with it next year? Find some more parking for it or sell it at a loss?

I mean after the 3 months. If you're not renting over the summer you generally won't move back in afterwards.

As we can't travel from home we have no choice to rent. Moving into a new property with the space. Quite confused lol.

No its not -

Moving to a house with a parking - car is parked

Moving out of the house - can is laid up for 3 months

Finding accommodation when you go back to uni - unlikely to have parking - where does the car go?

Basically, but we already have signed our pre-tenancy agreement for the term starting in September, so we have parking in September. Just in-between June-September no where to keep the thing.

just leave it where it is? or find a local nice old lady and give her £10 a month to leave it on her drive.
