went to look at a few when my brother was looking at them.

Seem like a nice drive and look nice

check the oil as they can use some and if it runs low it causes big problems

Also all the ones I looked at were showing signs of rust on the rear arches

Drives supercharged Tec with torque

Rust worse than vauxhall's.

I looked at a 2002 fiesta that had really started to rust.

Mate has got a zetec-s i think it's a 51 plate, theres more rust on it than my car and mine is an R reg lol. he said they are shit & the only good thing is the handling.

Get a vts or 106 gti

obvs bought a shed then. fool. me and my dad have had xr2is rs turbos etc older than zetec's and have never had any problems, they are good little cars for what they are, just look for a good one.

standard zetecs's are slow wouldnt bother :L

I had one for about year, loved it, neverput a foot wrong, ive owned 2 corsa, 2 saxos and a 2 fiestas and bar my new one (which is new) its best car i had, might be touch slower than a vts/2ltr but still a cracking little car imo

nothing wrong with fords if looked after, like anything else really.

my dads mondeo has done 180k and still going strong.

older fords tend to rust on the rear arches if not cared for.

personally, i'd just buy a 1.7 puma (which i am getting) as it's 125bhp standard and less boy racery, with a brilliant chassis.

go for a phase 2 version with a black interior and black top engine.

2001 onwards.

the only modification i'd do to a mk5 zetec-s is de-tango the headlights, some clear/smoked side repeaters and some decent tyres.

i chavved mine up with clear rears, -60mm springs and a pipercross. ruined it!
