Went to Asda first tried chip and pin but it wasnt accepting card for some reason...HSBC recently sent me a new card as they changed to VISA and even though Ive used it a cash points already I thought it may be that.

Went outside to cash point viewed balance etc tried to take £10.00 out and it said this cash machine has failed and kept the card!

Went to bank and they said yeh its a problem with the cash machine, 'that one always does it'

I said why the hell wouldnt it accept it in Asda either then but they didnt know and couldnt see anything wrong with my account.

He is going to stop the card and send a new one in the post..

Ever happend to anyone else? I still dont get why it wouldnt work in Asda if its a problem with the machine.

Pissed off now!

I'm with hsbc jay and have the silver visa card.mine done the same but that was because it had just expired,the next morning i got my new one.

I've had mine swallowed on two occasions.

1) i was pressing random buttons/all at once - don't know why but its not a good idea

2) They cancelled my card 2 years early without telling me

i had a very strange one at a natwest machine outside asda. as soon as i touched my card on the lip of the card slot the entire thing shot back into the machine. i could see inside the fucking thing through the hole where the card thing used to be. aparently it's some security thing. asda said if someone tampers with the slot then it does it. was fucking wierd.

i tried to lift a tenner the other day gave me my card back but no cash so i thought it maybe had no tenners so lifted £20 and it gave me 2 £10's :confused:

then my card didnt work in the same co-op the next day

i blame co-op

Had it happen with a Lloyds hole in the wall, apparently it was because of a dodgy magnetic strip. Didn't help as i was out on the lash

I work in a shop and often have pissed off customers coming in saying the machine has stolen their card (not that the shop can do anything about it as we don't have access to it no matter how annoyed they get with us)

All that happens is when the people come to fill it up with cash they take all the cards away that have been eaten and destroy them.
