Impreza's need at least 260bhp to be considered quick imo.
My brother had a Uk turbo with the 240bhp wrx engine fitted. Was RR'd at just over 240bhp.Ran spot on,healthy engine etc and my 185bhp FWD Honda Prelude AUTOMATIC pulled away from it with ease.
I'll admit it was ok from a standing start as it had the 4wd grip etc,but see from a rolling start,it wasnt as much fun.Too much transmission loss in a car that isnt exactly light.
We've had the Prelude story before mate.....
And my scooby weighs 1280kg proven so it's a light car and there's pretty much no transmission loss.Bring your Prelude down my way and i'll show you what a scooby can do.
Yes and its a story i will continue to use in threads where people say all scoobies are quick.
And no 4wd transmission loss??How do you work that 1 out??
P.S i know what Scoobys are capable of,my opinion is they need at least 260bhp to be considered quick(which im guessing by your replies in this thread, yours has at least that).
I didn't say 'No' transmission loss i said...there's pretty much no loss considering.
I never said all scoobys are quick either but there is no way that your 185bhp auto Prelude beat a 240 bhp Scooby.
The Prelude weighs 1310KG and the Scooby is 1300KG maybe less so that's 55bhp lost through transmission loss?? I think not.Your mate simply didn't know how to drive it....OR the scooby wasn't running right.
Something dosn't add up so that's why your story ain't worth shit so stop telling it I've had 4 Scooby's now running 250..260..320 and now 250 again so i know what they can do.I've also driven a Prelude and as nice as they are they would NOT beat even a standard 215bhp UK spec Classic never mind a WRX etc. Then there's the fact 99% of Scoobys are modified and even decatting can transform the car so pound for pound they are one of the best cars you can buy.End of.
Have you ever even driven/owned one???????
Pretty much no transmission loss considering what??
The Scooby ran spot on.Was RR'd @ just over 240bhp and was deemed healthy.Think it had an AWD downpipe and full magnex exhaust system and an ARC top mount.Done a few 14s 1/4s.Sound about right for the power etc??
Its not hard to select the correct gear and give it some either in a straight line so nothing to do with the driving of it.
When we went for it,every time was from a rolling start. Now i have no problems admitting if it was from a standing start,id have got fuked. But thats not my point.
Ive never owned 1 but drove the 1 in question a few times. Was pretty disapointed tbh.Never lived up to the hype they get.Granted they have a huge following(including yourself)but im more of a Pulsar man.

Mate you must have missed all the posts on the last page explaining i'm winding you up LOL
On another note i love the look of the Pulsars but when i sat in one the clutch was too stiff and it felt kind of like it was falling apart around me Black ones look awesome though

Had a 53plate type-r back end was rather light on it, and tram lines about the rd alot! The v-tec was alot of fun and i thought it was a very fast car, bought myself a subaru wr1 now and the ctr is not a patch on the wr1, in every way. Only thing i'd say is the ctr can be driven slow or fast the wr1 can't be!!!
