Bit annoyed/raged atm.
2 of my girl mates are having problems with there cars. 1 needs a new cat (R reg 12v corsa), the other says her gearbox is fucked because it wont go into reverse and the stick is all flopping about (Y reg 1.2 Clio). I told both of them that ill have a look at there cars/help them with fixing them. But they both rejected "because im not a mechanic". I work as a Electrictian/Automation technician, so no im not a mechanic as my profession. However i have always played with cars, helped other mates with theres, fixed my car etc but because its not my job "im not trained", and there off to spend hundreds at garages. My mate with the corsa is paying out aprox £250 for a new cat fitted!

Don't complain, My 2 days off work every week are spent working on all my mates cars.

This week was shocks, ABS ring and clutch switch on a Volvo whilst juggling work on my own car.
Next week is a manifold, headlight and some advisory stuff on a prelude.
The week after that is a cambelt on a Zafira.
Then a gearbox fault on a Toyota Hilux.

I wish my mates would use a garage, And to think i'm a truck driver by trade

To be honest sometimes its better for them to go to a garage than expect you to do it for nothing! I had all my mates asking me to do bits and bobs for them and they expected it all for free!

I have omega too 4cylinder though.

Update on the gals Corsa. Apparently going to cost her £600 to fix. She's been told by a garage that she needs a new cat (knew that) and, wait for it, her sumps gone! erm....gone where?

She might be selling it because it cost her so much. Contemplating offer her some monies for it fixing it up and sticking it on her for sale.

How much would a R reg 12v Sting be worth? Good condition from what ive seen. Arden blue. Same allows as my old 1.4 Sport had (3 prong thingys). ermm 80k odd miles I THINK.
