Since having my car battery replaced the stereo/headunit has gone into SAFE mode. I looked in the manual for the code but the previous owner has taken it out Is there any way around it or is it a trip to Audi?

Um maybe take the unit out as the person who owned my corsa wrote it underneath it. Sure there got to be something on the net to get around it though.

Shouldn't be anymore than 20 quid max Tom.

Audi may have it on system for free or they'll just get one generated for you.

I'll give my local audi a ring. Ideally i don't want to pay £20 for a code especialy considering the battery died and some bint decided to remove the code and not give it back when selling the car.

Sometimes they have it on system and others they don't, give them a phone just now before they shut.

That's just explaining how to put the code in?

I can't read, give it a try, nothing to lose.

I'm not surprised, any manufacturer only charges when they have to get it generated, they probably had it on system from the beginning.

I think its at the owner of the dealerships discretion tbh. All they do is put your car info (chassis no. etc) and the number off the back of the radio (begins with LKZ) into the workshop computer connected to Audi and it brings back your code.
