they really do vary in price on age and condition and milege, as for the slow and thirsty coment, i dont need anythin fast, only do 14miles aday. and mpg isnt that bad on me bad, thing it depends how you drive them tbh

My dads one was immaculate, was used as a second car for 7 years !

I'll stand by my mpg comment though, I used to cruise to work and back in it which as you know is all motorway and it was shocking, worse than the S3 by far.

Ye, I do do a fair amount of miles

Used to be a nice change driving the IS200 though as it was basically used when my Corsa wasn't trusted enough to do the work journey hence me getting quite familiar with the old IS

I only ask this question as im goin to look at a car on saturday and parkers suggest the car should be a £300 cheaper then the dealer has it up for, althought the car in question only has 51k on it where as parkers valuation of the car is sayin an average of 100k

Call him a mug, bid him down a monkey. Job done.

Messing sellers about will not result in a bargain.. Just show up with cash, and put it down the table.

Do people really think they haggle dealers down?

The dealer has a markup he wants, anything above that is a bonus, anything below you don't get.

As I said before.. Dealers are a waste of time.. If you're gonna haggle go private.

I drove my mate on a 400 mile round trip to buy an Astra GSi Advertised for £9,995

The dealer wasnt having none of it. He knew that we went to buy the car hence travelling so far. Therefore knew he would pay full price.

He wouldnt even accept £9,950 Cash

On the other hand my dad bought a A3 TDi for £1300 off asking price.

My advice is to go to view the car not to buy it, and dont show willing.

My store man at work had one, the throttle stuck open and he drove throught the front doors. I wish we had CCTV, he soon got rid, but we all said it was the carpet mat got stuck, he was saying it wasn't, but now we think he was telling the truth.

Wave some notes in front of him, and offer a grand less
