I've seen the exhaust control valves for fitting inline when you have a loud system you want to be able to control the noise on but I want to find a valve that you can fit to a standard system and vent the exhaust gas to air at the push of a button.. I've seen this fitted to a newish Golf GTi on a video a couple of years back but cant find anyone who makes such a thing?
Any suggestions?

What is it physically that you want Davey? A way of letting the gasses out closer to the engine?

I am pretty certain this is similar to alot of what the R32 owners do with their resonated systems? Some sort of mechanical switch

I've seen the valves for sale but the ones I can find are designed to run inline so they dont seal up completely

R32's have them in and open over a certain rpm you unplug them to stay open all the time.

What do you want to use it for?

Is that a boost controlled one?

I was wondering if they would work under vacuum too, they work out cheaper than the electronic ones.

It's off of an R32, they're n/a aren't they? Either way, you can get vacuum or boost solenoids which would do the job.

It's broken on that exhaust hence why I have it as it's scrapped on a warranty job. I'm going to use a servo to actuate it from a button on the dash, I think I'm going to do something really gay like having a sports mode which will make it louder and switch the map to a higher boost setting on the ECU.

They're very crude and I think you could probably make your own if you're desperate, it's literally a butterfly valve in the tube and it's not even sealed up with anything as such. You could easily make something that bypasses the centre box if you wanted to.

Looks good, what are they originally for? Will the motor enjoy being covered in shit under the car?

They are made for exhaust cut outs or inline muffling.. The car rarely gets driven to be honest

I want it to sound mental but I dont want to uspet the neighbours so this sounds like the perfect trade off

It would be cool if they could be made to work in proportion with the throttle, maybe tap into the TPS so it could control the motor, so at full throttle it is fully open.

The servo that control them takes too long to activate.

That's the idea with the vacuum driven one I have, when you go full chat it opens up the valve and makes some noise
