Of course it would. Because his web requests are transparently put through a proxy server, like most ISPs nowadays. Your server is only seeing whatever connects to it, so it records the IP of the webcache...
That one is a NetCache server running software NetApp/5.3R2D4.....

Yes because we're more clever about the way we log our IPs... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Depends what the cache server is running...
Basically most forum software will just log the requesting IP, but we log both the requesting IP and in the http header a thing called "X-Forwarded-For" which if it's generous will give us your real IP...

all these addresses are proxy servers, so u'll have a hard time gettin into one, and if you do its still not 'his' computer!

i have anice hotmail add on that logs the kinda stuff your on about, every e-mail sent to me carries 2 ips, the web catche and there logged in computer.... its so nice! MWAHAH!
