'There's a big C next to that' was the birds reply at the registry office which I've now found out means it's confidential. However if I go into the office and pay a fiver she can do a 5 year search for anyone of that name but then I'd need a date of birth or next of kin or something to distinguish him from any other 'Martin Millar' assuming that is his name.

What a farce

P.s. can anyone here hack facebook accounts?

They don't give you a time of death from the way she was talking, merely a 'yes' or 'no' if you provide enough information. It all seemed a bit cloak and dagger.
