As long as its been VIC checked you'll have no problems.. Obvioulsy the value is affected in the eyes of the insurer how ever you are under no obligation to tell them its a CAT C unless they specifically ask you but if you do not tell them and they bring it up when you make a claim you MUST make sure you pretend you didnt know.

Think its shown on the log book so not sure If you would get away with that by pleading ignorance.

It doesnt affect your premium though as far as I am aware.

VIC check doesnt check damage though, just Vin plates, Vehicle Identity Check

Just checks the Vin plates havent been swapped, ringer etc.

Mines a Cat C, doesnt bother me, drives fine, and flew through both MOT's its had. Aslong as its a good price, go for it.

problem with a write off is there are no regs in regards to the quality of repair work. I wouldnt touch any car thats been written off but if you have a good eye you can tell if its been repaired properly

Yes.,.. Once a car is Cat C'd it is supposed to be VIC checked before you put it back on the road to make sure its not a ringer!
