it only matters when you fit it into something rwd. then coil pack would be better.

Coilpack is probably better, as you don't have points to change (unless it's contactless :boggle or timing to mess up.

early dizzy motor wins it for me, better pistons, better crank as standard and if its not been fucked with an early XE should have a coscast head(from the GTE's)

Dis pack for me! wouldnt have dizzy ex seam to give more problems than anything!

i cant see how, only real differance is the dizzy, everything else is practically the same engine wise

you do get early/late coscast heads. later ones are ones to go for if going =1mm valves ideally, but tbh i much prefer a gm head over a coscast evrytime

dizzy are easier to diagnose as its mechanical

You can tell if its a coscast head by a "coscast" stamp round the edge of one of the inlet holes on the block. Aren't the GMs ones prone to being porus (sp)?

Coscast can go porous. Easy fix to do the porous mod on a gm head anyway. And theres a stamr under number 2 ex port saying coscast.

An XE with a distributor does not use points. You also cant mess the timing up as if my memory serves me correctly, it only goes together one way.

Is that a guess or have you done loads of research? Neither is more un-reliable than the other in my experience.

Nah just always has dispcks and they never go wrong for me so thats how i faviour them
Also watched friends have bother with dizzys, one of them got that fed up he took the dizzy c20 out so he could put a coil pack in
