I once found a set of car keys hanging out of the drivers door lock of a car parked outside a community centre. I took the keys, locked the car and took them straight inside. Asked for the owner and it was an old guy (prob about 60+), who just took them off me and scowled at me as if I'd shagged his wife! Didn't even so much as mutter the word thanks.
Made me feel like I should have taken the car.. fucking disrespectful old duffer. The keys had his house keys on and I'd imagine there would have been something in the car that would have indicated his address.
TBH, I'd probably still do the same but I'd probably flip if I wasn't thanked the next time... I think I was too shocked to say anything at the time.
It's quite ironic aswell that alot of people moan about young people with no courtesy yet all you hear of is resentful old people such as this.

Yep. I was 19 at the time and when I think back, I was quite immature. However, I've been brought up to respect other people's property and always think "how would I feel...."
To be honest though, I still felt good about myself for doing the right thing, and the old guy can just go fuck himself... with a bit of luck, karma might have seen to it that he did the same again but they were found by some little scrotbag instead

I've got both of my car's key's on mine... don't really see what the problem is TBH. If I loose them, I have the spares in the house - no problem.

tbh jay's missus is a bit of alright tbh, you have to be blind/ghey if you said no. And for the record I'd would pay to see you say that to his face.

things are hard enough nowadays without the odd good person
I found a wage packet when I was a kid (about 12), handed it in to the police, went back after 28 days to be told it still hadn't been claimed but that the rules had changed and it was now 31 days. Went back 3 days later, you guessed it, someone had mysteriously claimed it, the police cock behind the desk threw 50p at me and said better luck next time
I also found £250 in a cash bag (see through bag) outside a shop about 3/4 years ago and swiftly picked it up and pocketed it. If there was any indication of who's it was, don;t get me wrong i'd have got straight in touch, but there wasn't
