He has mentioned himself in the past he'd come to us, plus Id imagine any new owner (which I expect we will get) will want to start with a fresh management team in place.

He's also said that with us, i can see him going to real madrid for a year or two and then onto us when fergie leaves

He'll like the challenge of saving a sinking ship IMO.

If he goes there and turns it around and wins the league it will only boost his repuatation. If he went to Manchester United and won things he wouldn't get as many plaudits due to fact they have won it on a regular basis over the past few years.

Whats the sketch with the Europa League this season, do you have to finish 5th the get Europa and then the FA Cup winners get a place an all? Then if the Cup winners are also top 6 it goes to 7th place?

But following on from Fergie and being successful at it would be a massive achievement and show how good he really is. There aren't many other managers that will be able to do it

Granted that is true, but to turn Liverpool round would be a bigger acheivement than winning another title with United.

Would also be a massive risk to go to United and not win anything in the first season after Fergie, as you know he'd be labelled as a failure straight away.

I think it is that yeah, 5th europa league, then places for the winners of both cups or 6th and 7th if one of top 5 win the cups

So in an ideal world liverpool will finish 7th and fulham win the fa cup

RBS are refusing to renew the loan in July unless £100m is paid off it. The Yanks don't have £100m to pay it down themselves, so the only option they have is to either sell part or all of the club by then.

Ah right, I was more meaning they won't sell due to increased pressure of performing etc. But if they are under pressure from the banks (I wasn't aware it was that ad) then maybe they will be up for sale!

Purslow has confirmed that RBS will not renew unless the debt:value ratio is lower, hence the £100m figure. He has also said that the yanks have approached a lot of other banks to see if they will provide funding and none will at the level of debt they have.

So some % of us will go within the next 3 months I would of thought, just hope its 100% and its to a decent owner but who knows tbh.

If we get new owners (and depending who they are) then probably.

If we dont get new owners then we couldnt afford to get rid of Rafa, let alone a new manager.

Hopefully he will walk...

Clown and Tom, are you still standing by Rafa? A few weeks ago you didn't want him out?

I'll support him until he goes but I think he'll be gone by the summer in all honesty.

Would it not be the runners up of the Carling Cup in Europa? Seeing as Utd will be CL? Or did they change that when Cardiff came runners up?

So Villa are already guaranteed at least Europa, and if they finish 4th/5th it'll roll down to the 6th place?

And also, surely Rafa guaranteed that Liverpool will be 4th, if they don't he should walk

Or did he retract that statement?

Apologies if it's elsewhere in the thread, just scanned this last page

Will be interesting to see if he'll walk or not. If he does, isnt he throwing away £10m+ though?
