I have recently brought a new laptop and I have a product key, every time I go to activate Microsoft it says the product code is invalid and I need to uninstall the Microsoft word because the product key was invalid. Please help.

Try downloading the trial from here http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/FX100487981033.aspx and then activating it with your code you have.

Sounds like he probably has a trial version of Office pre-installed on the laptop and tried using a dodgy license key off the Internet to make it a full version.

I've had a client once, who asked for advice via email about this. Thought he was full of shit, untill I met him, 60 year old chap who bought a laptop for his daughter. The code didn't actually work, and had to call HP support to sort it all out for him.
God knows why these codes don't work given out by the suppliers though!
