Am i right thinking that their purpose is to keep intake inlet/air filter box free of oil?
Does this have any benefits to how car runs/emissions?

thought this was about something else so might aswell ask, anyone know any decent oil catch trays for doing oil changes with, i use a plastic petrol can with the top sawn off it only just holds enough so want something better

i got one from machine mart while ago. Has a spout to pour the old oil back into a container etc black round thing. Its marvelous.

Halfords 6l drain container, undo the plug on the side, drain oil into, place plug in, store upright with screw off lid for disposal
about 4 quid on trade i think
