Well after some uncertainty over the Icelantic volcano, the cloud of ash shifted enough to get a chopper scrambled to do a quick crew change. I wasnt meant to be on it but after a quick request to the gaffer when I found out there was a spare seat I got told I had 15min's to get my video brief, grab my stuff, get my survival suit on & get up to the heli-deck.
Got home, sun was shining, car was filthy. So I, took it out for a damn good thrashing Was going a bit loopy at times doing some questionable overtaking, hitting the limiter & some naughty speeds
Wasnt meant to be coming home til Monday....Result!

So if this all continues for quite a while longer yet (as they are now banging on about) does that mean you can't work?! Not good if so!
Least you made it back anyway; would be gutting to be stuck off shore I'd imagine!

Does it affect helicopters as well?
Woulda thought it would just chop through the air as normal

Modern large ones have jet engines so technically yes.

I'd assume a helicopter's engine needs air to ignite fuel, just as a normal one would

No but I was hoping to build a black snowman when I got home if the ash started to fallout.
