I've had my cube curve 09 for about a year now

I've been doing a bit of riding with a mate who is into his offroading, I've got an old claud butler which I've been using with him because it's got some thick tyres on it but it's getting on now. The cube is a really nice bike which mainly gets used on road which is why it has some pretty thin tyres. I was thinking about buying a spare set of wheels for it with thicker tyres on it so I can swap them over easily as oppose to changing tyres each time. I don't want to spend too much but what would this cost me to get a complete set which would have to include discs as well? I'm a bit out of the loop on this sort of thing so don't know what's good or what I need to check to make sure everything fits?

Wants another set of wheels for his Mountain Bike complete with discs so he can have a set of wheels with off road tyres on and a set of wheels with skinny road tyres on

 sorry, I want a complete set of 'offroad' wheels so I can switch between them and the road wheels depending where I'm riding. I don't know if there is anything I need to check so that what I buy is compatible with bike, sizes etc. Just after a recommendation of wheels, tyres etc that would work

Whats with the full spec?? Just get a set of 26" wheels with standard disc hubs.. Sorted.

depends on what you want to spend mate
you can get vneted disks floating disks everything
spend anywhere from 40 quid a wheel to thousands a wheel
how much you looking to spend?

For the cost of new wheels, discs, tyres & tubes you could pick up a 'budget' MTB like a Specialised Rockhopper or something.
I'd be looking at two bikes rather than faffing around like that.
Or just get MTB tyres for your existing bike.

mavic rims with shimano hubs, decent set of tyres and discs you could prob pick up around £150 brand new and would be strong and light enough for light xc and trail work, best off looking on ebay and picking up some cheap 2nd handers

I picked up a mint Specialized Hardrock disc for the misses on eBay for £120 - there are some bargains out there.

there is but getting the right sized frame etc for the right price isnt as likely, even then i'v had two different make bikes with the same frame size and hated one of the bikes, if he likes the current bike then i'd recommend a 2nd wheel set
