First I'd buy a semi decent house out in the middle of nowhere and secure with a decent garage (500k).
Then a Nissan GTR as a daily drive, a ferrari f430 scuderia, lambo murcielago lp670-sv and Aston Martin V12 Vantage... fin

Quit the job straight away, buy a nice car and then move into a decent house, go on holiday and get a few houses all over the world.
If i won the £100 Mill euro millions, then i would probably buy Abbey Road for £40m and keep the change

Think I'd get a new TV. Flickering backlight in my one is annoying me.

I'd probably just bank it & lease a R8 or something!! I could happilly carry on living in the house Ive got a its big enough for me.
I wouldnt go mental unless it was a massive win....which doesnt come round often now days!!

What would I buy myself?
Plane tickets.
I'd be spending the forseeable future travelling the planet, working out where i'd like to live on a perm basis.
The once i'd done years of travelling, i'd build a property, then indulage in some nice bikes and cars. Not too many, a daily drive, a sports car, and something to tow the boats and jetskis (oh and a van for the track bikes ).
Buying "fancy stuff" certainly wouldn't be on my mind if I won the lottery. Where I could go first would be the first thing on my mind (after collecting money )
I wouldn't even call work, jsut leave a letter and any IT kit at the front desk never to be seen again

First thing I would do is take a nice holiday somewhere so the reality of it all can settle in!
Id then work out exactly how much interest id be making per month and where to put the money.
I would then give my family and close friends a very generous share.
Then it would be time to invest in property...I would get myself a nice 5-6 bedroom house in the Cotswolds or something and begin filling it with things ive always wanted.
As for cars...simple
1 x VXR8 Bathurst
1 x GTR
1 X Ecos
1 X Focus RS
Then is would be a nice relaxing time from then on, and look at starting up my own business and making sure its set up correctly using professional help. Business would have to be both a nice restaurant somewhere and a modifying garage with its own Time Attack car and Drift weapon.

i like how "won the lottery" means you can have anything to most people.
sometimes you can win and get just over £1million, over times like the euro it could be £50million
i can see why a lot of winners end up broke,.

If I won £1m I'd still buy a Veyron. I'd also buy a sleeping bag.

What's the point in fantasying over 1 mil? Thread would be a bit boring then?
1 mil - Get a normal 300k-450k house and an Focus RS then live comfortably...
Think id rather be thinking what it would be like to reallly win at life tbh.

If I won a significant amount on the lottery, I'd first check that I had a bank account that would allow me to have that sort of money in it (some accounts have a maximum limit) - probably would have to get a "private banking" account?
Anyways, what I would buy would depend on how much I won.
For example if I won £1 million this year I might spend the money as follows:
1. Use £300,000 to pay off debts, buy a nice house (living in the Midlands means house prices are much much cheaper and nicer than in London and the south-east) and a couple of cars for myself and my other half, give some money to family to pay their debts off too and for a 'rainy day' stash for them, go on a nice holiday somewhere and have money put aside for a year's worth of living expenses.
2. Put £5100 into a cash ISA each year. For argument's sake (if the allowances and interest rates never changed - although this would be unlikely), I could potentially have £153,000 if I retire at 60 + £4590 in interest (tax free) = £157,590 in total.
3. Invest £194,900 - either into mine/other businesses, or build up a property portfolio. Profits = £???
4. Put £500,000 into a savings account. If the interest rate was say 3%, I could potentially earn £12,000/year in interest net of tax.
£1 million, as much as it sounds, isn't really a great deal of money to win and unless you were miserly with your money there's no way you could retire on it and live the "high life". I would look into making the money work for me, through savings and investment as per my example above.
At worst, I would only have £1000/month to live on but if my investments were high yielding, that might possibly be pocket change
Winning more than £1 million would obviously be better as I would be much wealthier, but £1 million is better than £0 at the end of the day.

How could you buy a house, a couple of cars, pay off debts and your familys debts for 300k?
Unless it's a 2 bed semi and a focus + a couple of credit card bills you're talking about?

Detatched 3 bedroom houses near me (in a much nicer/more middle class area) go for a minimum of £150k. Neither myself or other family members don't have huge amounts of debt.
I live in the Midlands remember, not down south. Property is much more affordable up here.
