My method was completely different but works and ive been off the fags for 2 months as of tomorrow morning. I basically got soo shitfaced one night out, had a smoke first thing when i woke up the following morning and it was so disgusting that every time i thought of fags i thought of that disgustingness from that morning...i was fine for a couple of weeks, then i was getting cravings when i got worked up but i fought through them and now im fine. My eating habits changed though and i was fighting cravings with food imo as ive put on a noticeable amount of weight since i stopped. its worth it though just for how much money ive saved in 2 months!

All good points, i'm just in the house and i've had 3 cigs since i went out at 8... got 3 left so i'm going to bin them or stash them for an emergency.

I wouldnt say its as much an addiction, more of a habit like going for a piss when you get up in the morning...

You might find my approach helpfull.

I love smoking - really really like it lol ---- but I really wanted to quit.
I also smoke a bit of weed as well which makes it double hard to stop smoking as you are quiting 2 vices.

Basically I hve this attitude... I dont smoke fags anymore when sober. If I get really pissed and need one then I will have one. If I really want a spliff with mates then I will have one.

Some people can just go cold turkey and never smoke again- I cant/dont want to do that - so i just have a grip on my smoking now.

I quit 4 months back- since then ive smoked 4 fags and about 3 spliffs. I dont drink much alcohol and im eating well and training quite a bit.....Im happy with that compromise and dont think its too bad for my health. I snack on grapes and other fruits through the day...certainly got my appetite since quitting

At the end of the day dont just give up because you cant completely stop- get a grip on your habbit and it will gradually be easier to quit completely...worked for me anyway and I was smoking alot before.

As for non smokers giving advice on quitting smoking....you really have no idea what your on about. Its not just the addiction thats hard-- its the fact that most smokers actually love smoking and its built into their daily habbit and social plans....for some people its a complete change of lifestyle thats required....its very hard

Nah? What about non smokers that have tried smoking or those that have seen family or friends die of cancer? Are they not allowed an opinion because they don't pollute their lungs with shit?
