Can someone give me some advise? My girlfriend has just moved into a 1st floor flat (bought), but she has got a front garden, which is just gravel from the previous tennants. Now I want to get her some solar lights for either side of the path leading up to the front door. Now I've seen two sets that i like personally at Argos, but not sure if they'll be bright enough. 1set are leds and the other set are 6w solar bulbs, can you get brighter oens anywhere? I'll picture them below with teh links just so you know what i'm rambling on about.

From what I've seen none of the solar powered lamps are particularly bright, just enough to light a path. If it's a front garden have to hope they don't get robbed

Yeah, seems a pretty quiet area at the moment, but only been there since saturday. Is there anything else you would recommend?

The solar lights in Sainsburys are, or at least were a few weeks ago, BOGOF. They look like the second lot you have pictured.

they run off mains power 240v/12v transformer.
been very pleased with them and at the price i've bought a coupke of sets as its as cheap to buy a new box than buying a set of bulbs lol

Just to let you know, they are definitely on BOGOF at Sainsburys still. I saw them today!
EDIT: £30 would get you 12 stake lights with stainless bodies, £2.50 each.

Best option is to have a ring around the garden that way all the lights will be the same power.
Also a dusk till dawn timer is a must. http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9261600&ecamp=trf-005&CAWELAID=266964175
Also colour change led lights will change colours a different speeds so after 1 hour of runing you will have a green, blue, red, yellow lights. Might look ok in some cases.
