When you have VAG meets in your local area and other makes of car turn up do you have complete and utter twats in your meet that just set about on a mission to abuse you for turning up in something other than a VW?? Proper felt like we where standing on peoples toes so much so we left. Completely opposite to the reception we got in Manchester.

Reason i ask was me and Dave before we went to the Ford thing went up near preston to a VAG meet, we had been there what 30 seconds before we where approached and asked to move, then some random set about shouting his mouth off that we had turned up in a Series 1 escort and a Corsa and proceeded to start on other people who had turned up in other cars.

Now i am all for people into different makes and that sort of shite but surely we are all into the same sort of "hobby" for want of a better word.

We joke about it for a bit but never go that far. But last time I was at a 'VAG meet' some guy pulled up in a Escort Estate and started wheelspinning etc, so we all told him GTF as ours is at a maccy D's and has been for years so we don't want dickheads like him ruining it for us.

I've never been to a VAG meet. Most of the people on audi-sport come across as stuck up twats that think they are better than everyone else so I cant be arsed with it.

Actually I should go, I'd fit right in

when i had the corsa i was jeered by a few vag pricks when i was entering the DC09 show (mixed marque but predominantly vw)

i didn't give 2 shits, but it did speak volumes about the types of people involved with vw's.

there are stereotypes across the board, no one 'scene' is perfect and you'll always get some people spoiling the atmosphere through their narrow minds.

i would say that the vauxhall/ford/jap lot are just as judgemental over other makes of car.

it's not fair to tar everyone with the same brush, it's usually the minority being idiots.

Does no-one stand up to these people?

I'd have stoodd up and asked him what his problem is and if he would like would like his head removed from his arse. Its a VW, not Lambo........

yes true, but it's not confined to vag shows/meets, it's widespread, i picked some wheels up from a honda meet and my corsa went down like a lead balloon (maybe it was shit, but it still made a magazine cover), car modification is very subjective, it's just unfortunate some people have very narrow minds.

the lad who started shouting off about your cars was probably stood there with nothing interesting to talk about other than how expensive his wheels and tryes are.

I took the C2 to springfest, got jeered and people made a point to look and laugh./take photo's of me surrounded on the entrance with Rado's, mk1 golfs etc. Felt it wasn't worth saying anything but at the same time extremely childish.

Although on the way out back to the motorway I did drive like a complete tool which made up for it

If it's in a public car park just park in the middle of them and go for a walk for half hour, that will rattle their cages more.

I remember the old vw show days where everyone just got stoned and chilled out.

Im going to one in bristol over the weekend of the 11th june. I might leave the (standard mint non scene) gti at home and take the 172 if its goning to offend the new vw breed!

VAG tend to be stuck up there own arse, but then they associate all the nob heads that get meets stopped with the other makes of cars

having said that i use to own a Ł15k plus corsa b and now own a A4 1.8 TQS

Your telling me stuck up. Very very clicky, like I said felt dead uncomfortble. Wouldn't of minded so much if the quality of the cars was 100% but nothing that stood out from the rest.

The only VAG meet I went to was boring and dule. Everything was chromed or rusty and I didnt find anything interesting. Even the really cool engine conversions are a waste as they all only do 5mph.
