seen 1 on net for 998 inc vat cums with 56k modem and windows xp is that dear? want 1 as 2nd pc but want to pay peanuts not 2 fussed about modem as i ave xternal broadband 1.

Best bet would be to hit ebay and find a second hand one. If you don't want to play games then a 1.4Ghz processor upwards will be fine for general windows/internet stuff... 256MB ram recommended, 20Gb+ hard disk and a 14.1" screen really minimum...

Goto www.dell.co.uk. They make pretty nice laptops really for the money. £779 would get you a Celeron 2Ghz, with basic stuff, dvd, modem, network card, 14.1" screen, 20gb, etc, etc
