im colour coding the whole of my interior, is this the right steps to take???

1-sand down the surface with wet n dry grades 400,600 then 800
2-prime it, 3-4 coats, (leave 24hours to dry)
3-lightly sand down with a 1200 grade
4-prime it agian,1-2 coats, (leave 24hrs to dry)
5-paint it,3-4 coats, (leave 24hrs to dry)
6-lacquer it, 2-3 coats

is this right???
whats your opinions and advice, what have u lot done???

yes m8 sand down the surface but use grade 80 then 150 then 400,600, 1200 thats wat i do cos if u use 80 removes dimpley surface very fast, only 1-2 coats of primer needed next then leave to dry for 1 hour then lightly sand then another 1-2 coats of primer leave 24hrs then paint on til even surface coverage dont leave the paint to dry for 24 hrs spray first coat of lacquer on after about 30 mins as it takes to the paint better the 2 more coats 10 mins after get it touch dry then hang it new somewhere worm like heater not to close tho

If you sand the primer using 'wet' wet n dry it leaves it silky smooth ready for the paint

i would do that except i wouldnt leave it 24 hours between primer and paint, more like 15 -20 minutes. sprayed pretty much my whole car btw, paint sticks much better if the primer hasnt completely gone off.

So this sounds great, and im sure (given spare interior parts from a scrap car!) i could manage this.... But since my car is a yucky red, and i am never going to spray the outside of the car.... and my artistic talent has waned since my GSCE art..... WHAT WOULD BE A GROOVY COLOUR FOR THE INTERIOR???

dont bother going to a scrappie, do your bits and if you fcuk them up they are only like 2 quid from vauxhall each.

with a red car i would do the inside purple or silver. or both
