Hey guys,
bit of a request, i have some steering arms for a EP3, and i need the thread moving further down the shaft and about 2cm taking off the end to allow me to dial in more camber. The thread size is m14x1.5 which is something i can't get hold of without paying stupid money.
Anyone have access to this sort of thing, obviously willing to pay.
Cheers Rob

You certain it's an M14x1.5 thread? I only have dies for M14x1 and M14x1.75. An M14x1.5 die would cost about £30, if you want to go for it I'd have to charge for the tool as I don't have any use for it really...

Hi Ed,
It's deffinetly m14x1.5. Would it be easier if i send you the steering arms, then ill paypal you the money for the tool before you buy it? Just make 100% sure?

Can do Rob, drop them to:
Ed Coleridge Smith

MB171
Aston University
Aston Triangle
Birmingham B4 7ET
and I'll get the pitch gauge on them just to be certain then I can order the die if needs be.

Fantastic will post tomorrow
The reason i'm having to do this is the track rods bottom out leaving no adjustment on EP3s when you have signifcant camber, so machining it down gives this adjustment allowing more camber. Probably don't have to do it on most cars

20mm as requested. I extended the thread all the way to the shoulder giving you 1" more thread.

Also plugged the ends with some aluminium caps as the thread was hollow and they had press in caps to start with...

Fantastic mate! I presume if i needed to take more off i could do it with a hacksaw as such and ruin your piece of precision machinary

That you can. The caps are about 8mm long and pressed in, if you took any more off then you'd end up with a hole there. Don't really think it matters much though.

It is alot on a standard car, you wouldn't have the benefits with soft bushes etc, but with poly bushes a LSD, solid mounts, high spring rates it should work well, i'll go with 2.5 to begin with.
