Me and a few friends have been wanting a buggy for a few months now to rag around one of there newly purchased feilds

so we hunted around and found out that they are actualy alot more expensive than we thought... so we decided to buy a trashed one for cheap and rebuild it from scratch

found one going cheap from a guy living a few of doors down from my mate so we bought it and got to work

needed literaly fully spliting into each part, some rust grinding down and treating it and repainting the whole frame
also needed a engine rebuild and a new drive sprocket

and 2 new wheels and tyres

so.... here it goes

engine out

only a little lawnmower engine for now around about a 12 bhp engine we think
i striped it to bone today and rebuilt it from scratch after un-seizing the piston and a butterfly valve on the carb that was compleetly stuck shut

then we started striping the frame down

thats how far we got today

going to get the rest done tomorow after college

then its getting the paint stripped and treated for rust on thursday and painted on friday

future plans:

either a Fazer 600cc engine or a hyabusa (sp) 1000 cc engine and a 4wd system (my friends dad has both which we can pick from for free )
bigger brakes
suspension
manual gearbox
cage strenghtend (sp)
and thats all i can think of for now

what you think?

took ages as i only had about 6 year old nitomorse
just need to sand it down and k-rust it then there ready for paint
going to go get a cuple more peices of the frame work off tomorow to strip down

what paint colour do you think we should go for on the frame and what colour on the wheels?

Finaly got finished with the prep and onto the paintwork with my new toy

well worth the money for something like this (concidering i got this brand spanking new for free)

anyways
this is after 1 quick coat on all peices that i have at mine (the rest is at my mates still)

still needs sanding back and repainting

hopefully will look good when its done
get to spend all of next week on it
so it might be ready to roll in a week or 2

No there's not. Hayabusas are 1300cc. Cool project, use the fazer engine. It'll have about 100bhp which will be plenty to overwhelm those little wheels and make the brakes useless. A busa motor is electronically limited to 178mph... Which I suspect might be a touch quick across a field unless you mega mess with the gearing.

Also the busa will have more complicated electrics.

Cool project.

There is only one engine for the Hayabusa, and that's the 1300cc one. You may be mistaking the fact it's a 1300 GSXR as you can get a 1000 GSXR.

But a 'busa engine in that will be madness. The midrange will make it go sideways, and the ballistic top end will keep it there!
