got nothing to do in work so just been having a play about with changing details on some quotes.

so for a 350z standard, parked in the drive, no tracker - £1235
and for a 350z standard, garaged, no tracker - £1296
and finally 350z standard, parked in drive, tracker fitter - £1340

all the quotes were done on compare the market and the same company came out with the above prices.

anyone care to tell me why they charge more to garage it and have a tracker fitted?

wonder what i would be charged if i left the keys in the ignition and doors open over night

My renewal came through was 1088quid,
Same company quoted me 700quid on net,
Rang them and they quoted me 568quid
Work that out?

...Most use bizzare algorythms to calculate the price so its always worth messing around with various details.

i know why its more expensive in a garage and thats because it will cost more to fix the damage to the garage which will be done if they do get your car.

i think its actually cheapest to park the car on the street.

I can understand that but surely the fact that the car isnt on show/easy to get to will put the majority of chavs who are likely to take it compared to when its parked on a street therefore it should lower it not increase it imo.

Drive way seems to work out cheaper on a lot of cars.. I think there is an extra fire risk in the garage plus there is the added risk of damaging the car driving it into/out of the garage.

What I don't get is you've been a customer for a year so they send out a renewal.

Its always more expensive than last year, so you ring around and find a much much better quote.

Call up insurance company and say not to renew, they ask why so you tell them they are insulting you by trying to charge a lot more. They then reduce quote to lower than the new quote you've got from another company.

Well why didn't you just send out that fu*king cheap quote in the f**king first place instead of taking an existing customer for a ride and wasting my time.

Tossers.

agreed the cheapest price isnt too bad really, was £200 cheaper around xmas time though.

but its just the more you protect the car from getting stolen and if it did making it easier to recover that they up the price was hoping it would be cheaper.
