I'm looking to possibly get rid of the VXR fairly soon for something a bit more family orientated. Had my heart set on a BMW 320D/325D M Sport saloon. But also looking at other options.

Criteria....

5 Door
Looks good
Goes pretty well
Big (ish) boot
Well Specc'd
Diesel
Around £23k budget
No older than 09

3 series & the A4 are in a different league to the others. Guess you cant get a 330d for that money or I'd of said that.

I'm loving the insignia at the moment. A proper classy looking car is pretty much any spec. Can't wait to drive it on the VXR track day next month

VXR in any colour except Arden blue for me!

The Insignia is a lot of car for the money but it'll be worth approximately 53p by the time its 3 years old Which would bother me quite a bit if you are buying the car rather than leasing!

This is true Matt, but if you get it bought at the right price you could take a lot of that sting away and still have a better spec'd car.

Ben, it appears we're in a similar situation and after something very similar.

Im looking to get something more suitable for our baby thats now 1 day over due.
Ive had my eye on this2006 BMW 5 SERIES 535D M SPORT and just waiting to sell my car now!

Whilst the insignia is more car for the money, the depreciation will be staggering, BMWs and Audi's are what you want for holding value.
