Its actually pretty shite tbh. Only running Donut doesn't help, and a few people who have looked properly in it, even the coming 2.1 update (whenever that may be) still won't do multitouch support as the hardware isn't capable of it. Screen is pants compared to the Desire's AMOLED, and it is actually pretty sluggish too, interface, everything...

i wasnt impressed at first, but the web browser is astonishing. Best on any phone ive used.
However, ive not used the Desire to browse the web and the one i used was as prototype withoutthe amoled screen

I'm going to wait until the new iphone is out.
the desire will probably come down in price and i'll pick between the two.

I find people who have iPhones ALWAYS have to get them out and show of within like 5 minutes of meeting them
Im still on my 3 year old k850i, had to replace the screen (i broke it accidentally after dismantling the phone to fix the speaker) and the keypad but not its working ok, speaker did break but managed to tickle it back to life with a tiny screwdriver

My vote is for the Desire. being free is a major factor and tbh I think the HTC will be the better phone.
I currently have an iphone and will be getting a Desire come upgrade time

got an email on monday to say it would be delivered the next working day before 1pm
left it until today until i rang them
they dont have any in stock yet and it would likely be the end of the week before i get it.
