A quick question about old numberplates.
The plate I am interested in was a standard issued plate for a B reg Escort.
Does anyone know whether there's any way to contact them to ask about availability?

You need to find someone who works for a company/organisation that has a contract with the DVLA, as they can pay £2 to get the owners details.

Never ever call the DVLA.
You'd get a better conversation from HM Customs.
Worst people i've ever spoken to. Not once, but every bloody time

Only phoned them once to order a new log book, they were cool for that.

Tell me about it...
I rang the number, and was greated with a grunt followed by the name 'Kerry'.
She asked me for the Numberplate, and continued to put me on hold for the next 5 minutes, only to return and tell me what i already knew! She then told me in no uncertain terms that there is 'no way' for me to contact the owners!
