Insurance more expensive with a years no claims?

Im currently paying £1900 on a modified 1.4 sport fully comp.

But with a years no claims it costs me £1700 to insure a standard saxo vtr third party fire and theft

Saxo vtr is only insurance group 7 and the 1.4 sport is 6

You're asking why a years NCB is a good thing?

It's proved that you can drive without crashing, therefore in theory you are more insurable and less likely to claim money from the insurance company.

In their eyes anyway

That's how it works. You get no claims bonus and you get cheaper insurance?

The top line in your post needs correcting.
Mine went up with 2 years ncb, i called and asked why and got told a load of crap about it been because of the recession, just get your 1years ncb certificate and go elsewhere mate.
