Yeah my 42" LG suffers from screen burn slightly. I can't believe they are doing 50" for under £700 now, I paid over a grand for my 42" a couple of years back!

i would personally rather have a 42" lcd then a 50" plasma, image retention is what plasmas suffer from, if you are using it for your ps3 etc aswell then i would personally prefer an LCD

i would not worry too much about the claimed 600hz screens, 100hz is fine by any standards, i would be looking for any over 60 hz.

Very nice. Plasma is better. When I said the screen burn being bad, I play COD regularly and I never get the map burning onto the screen, so it can't be that bad

plasma is not better. Generally between the pro's and cons on a television will always show LCD to be better

600mhz isn't like 6x as fast as the 100mhz lcd screen, it's just another put the biggest number down so people will buy tv's thing.

Maybe not the case now but when I was looking at TV's the general consensus was if buying over 40" then go Plasma if under that then go LCD? I just think Plasmas have a better picture

Plasma's normally have a brighter more colourful picture which most people seem to like better, even though it's not very accurate.
Accurate colours aren't normally that vivid so the LCD looks a bit duller sitting beside the plasma.
