What part of the car are you touching when you get an electric shock. You seemed to miss that minor detail out.

Mine went through a spell of this when I touched the door too. Seems to have cleared up now but I've recently noticed my electric mirrors dont work properly.

Thinking It might have been a short somewhere

No.

What is happening is you must be rubbing against your clothes and building up a static charge. As you get out the car and touch something metal, that charge discharges through the car.

Static shock, not electric shock.

Could be caused by the friction of the car going through the air.
