Just done abit of search on these tonight, what are peoples opinions on them? They seem to be quite cheap, are they good value for money?

Opinions and thoughts?

I quite like them, resale value would worry me a little, couple years of insignia out and I'm sure they will settle down!
Reckon I'd buy one if that's what I was after! Lotta car for the money! And apparantly a very good engine once mapped!

my mate has had his for a year and done a good bit of mileage in it. lovely comfy car. fair quick also. his was 15k brand new last year.

there are no nurburger ring lapp time to say how awesome it is at handling but it did a 14.6 quarter mile at 102mph as a std estate car.

Meant to be a very very very underrated car. Depreciation disaster if purchased new because of the taxe/rep image and high running costs.

i think they look great, very rare and hugely fast. Shame its fwd but other than that they are IMO

Yea as said they are supposed to be a fairly underrated car, Top Gear / Clarksons review was fairly one sided against the car, but the interesting bit about it in a straight line was that it is something like the 4th fastest saloon in the world? I forget now, something to brag about though lol

Huge mid range gains to be had from a remap around 400 lb/ft iirc.

earlier ones were not as good but the later 280bhp model had revised stability control and was actually a very good handling car for its size and fwd.

edit, it lapped the ring quicker than the astra ring model did for all you run what you ring people.

clarkson slated its handling on the t.g tv review where as top gear magazine said it handled very well for its size, power and being fwd.
