I let my mates dad use my paypal the other week, added his card on the system paid for his item on eBay and that was that.
I've just paid for a couple of cables I needed, and a new external harddrive.
Only just clicked on that I've paid on his bloody card, is it possible that I can reverse the payment / cancel them and then repay on mine??
Going to feel a right cunt trying to tell him now!

try paypal support
or if that doesn't help then tell your friend's dad straight away and offer a bank transfer or something.
or you could ask the merchant for a refund and pay them again using your card.

Or don't mention it and wait and see if he notices it If he does, just play dumb and say "really?! oh shit sorry man must have clicked yours" then offer a refund.

How do I cancel a payment?
You can only cancel a payment you have sent if the payment is ‘Unclaimed’ and you can see a ‘Cancel’ button in the ‘Action’ column for that payment.
Generally, this will only appear if the payment was sent to an email address that was misspelled or is not registered with PayPal.
To cancel the payment, follow these steps:
Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
Click ‘History’ at the top of the page
Find the payment you'd like to cancel
Click ‘Cancel’ in the ‘Action’ column of the unclaimed transaction
Click ‘Cancel Payment’
PayPal cannot reverse a transaction which is ‘Completed’. In this case, we suggest that you contact the recipient directly to arrange a refund.
The recipient can use the refund link on the payment ‘Details’ page to return the funds to you and no fees will be charged to either party.
Note: An ‘Unclaimed’ payment will be automatically returned to the sender after 30 days, if it is not claimed by the recipient.
If you used a credit or debit card, the money will be returned to the card
If you used their PayPal balance or bank account, the money will be returned to your PayPal balance

you could contact the company/seller and ask for a refund. it should go straight back to the credit card.

If LETGSI16V was your dads mate you would have got away with it. £230 is like, not even his weekly bonus.

I could do, but paypal seems like a bitch for you to get actual money! Plus I've deleted the card now anyway, fun over

I did this to my mate. Bought something for him using his card on my account then went on spending. He phoned me up when he got his statement and asked what I had bought, I had a look through my Ebay history and there was nothing in there for that amount. Then I remembered 10 minutes later than I had done a deal outside of Ebay and just Paypal'd the guy the money. Luckily he hadn't called the Police and cancelled the card in that time.

I would have noticed if it came off my bonus card TBH.
If it had come from my personal account I wouldn't have though, not checked that in months!

He's find about it, it's on a Credit Card though, so can't do a bank transfer. Will just give him cash today.
