i can get me an MGB GT for a few £££(£200 is my max) no set price yet.
bit of a project.
last tax disk in it was 1998 and the newspaper in it, was dated 2006
so it has sat for at least 4 years
didnt look underneath yet but it is meant to be clean and solid :y:
and couldnt get the bonnet open the release cable was seized :n:
the parts seem easy-ish to get from specialists these days.
and its on 5,265k (may have gone round once though)
i wouldnt be doing on my own wold be four of us doing it in our spare time.
nothing set in stone yet just an idea so far so opinions?

Id bet thats rotten as a pear underneath, I have a huge soft spot for old british cars though, engine wont be that hard to get going
rust underneath will be the biggest concern

For £100 it would be worth it. That way if you give up, you'd still get £100 scrap for it.

Working on my dads today. Very easy/fun cars to work on.
If your gonna do all the welding and painting yourself it might be worth a bash. If not and your going to pay someone walk away because it will be a money pit and look for a more solid one.
If you could get it for a ton or so break it

Don't rat look it!!!
Bodywork looks ok as there are no massive dents/holes (apart from roof).
What engine? 1.8L or 3.5L?
Get rid of the shit american platic bumpers as well and put some chrome ones on.

Understatement alert.
If that's been stood for 4 years there will be nothing left
I had a Midget once, biggest moneypit/rust bucket ever.
It looked immaculate though, the trouble was it was only the paint holding the thing together

The sills look not bad, some surface rust in places, did you hit them with a mallet or poke a screw driver at anything?

Im confused!
I could picture a smug, ginger geek with extreme body odour driving one of those tbh! So not really a good look! Unless you fit the criteria.
