Just wanted to know what the tuning options are to get some good results out of the engine as i may purchase one in the not to near future. I know there not mega quick but would be looking at modifying it or buying a ready modded one. Max budget would be 4k for the car.

Something like these would be ideal!

So are they an easy engine to tune for decent power gains without spending thousands?

I always thought the only way to get proper gains from any engine for pennies is remaps on diesels with a turbo

I bought mine for £3895 which is a good price, I think tuning wise there are the usual things like panel filter and exhaust etc, I have heard that they respond well go a good 2.5" system. Then you could get cams, throttle bodies, even a turbo if you wanted to It's rather expensive, mind

Actually, Total Vauxhall have a Buy & Tune guide in their current issue, go and get a copy

Stainless manifold, de-cat, 2.5" system, cams, inlet, remap, should see somewhere around the 160bhp.

I had one and contemplated spending a lot on it to get that sort of power, didnt see the point, sold it and bought a Clio 182 instead.

That's fine Andy, but at the end of the day, the Corsa's wipers are the right way round

I know, I was just messing about

Tbf personal preference can quite easily come into it. Yes, you could have a Clio with lots more power, but I would still pick the Corsa because I don't really like the Clio. Plus it's more fun to play with it to get more from it imo. Again, it's all down to the individual.

Im gonna custom make a wiper motor just to shut you up

As for the Clio, ive had 8 Vauxhalls since i passed at 17, 6 of them been Corsa's, this is my first non vaux, and i love it, handles great, excellent power, comfy etc, i could have put 2k into the Corsa and dont think it would have been as much fun.
