On Saturday afternoon (2-3pm) our factory was broken into.
The coppers tell us there is some new tools in the trade - pre-loaded crowbars: You jam them in the gap and they fire open using compressed air.
Anyway, they bust in through the rear fire door then went round and hammered in EVERY sounder in the factory (which were going off because every door is microswitched) There are 12 sounders and they are all a fair distance apart.
As soon as they cracked open the first door the coppers were on their way (REDCARE).
They didnt even take one thing before the armed response, police chopper, meat wagon, and 4 panda's turned up, Tazered one of them and caught another 2
We changed the sounders today, at £50 a throw.
Wish i'd have had the CCTV - i'd have got them on Britains Dumbest Criminals

We had better ones at the co-op i worked at. Took out the phone lines, smashed their way in, then into the mini bank, beat the alarm sounders off the wall. Got a welder onto the back of the cash point, set off the fire alarms then beat them off the external walls. Got away with 100k

You cant miss the 130dB sounders, there was 3 of the guys breaking in, one to each area of the factory, they were definitly amateurs, we dont even have anything they could easily steal, it was broad daylight, they were onfoot and the tool chests we use would have to be wheeled down the street. They might have been after our stainless, but i'd like to see them carry an 8' x 4' sheet of 18 gauge down the road.

Went to the hassle of smashing the sounders but didn't think to cut the phones

Doesn't always work that. Even if someone cuts ours at work it sounds the alarm and if that fails there's a gsm aerial as a back up

They wouldnt have cut the phone lines anyway, a) they werent that clever. b) they cant get at the telecom riser c) Redcare had called the cops as soon as the alarm was triggered.

I work for an alarm company
You still eliminate the fact that it might have a Redcare rather than a digi communicator if you're going to walk about smashing 12 sounders
