I'd buy the sticker off ebay, but £10 for the chance that they might just send it back saying its been tampered with doesnt seem too worth it. Theres no scratches on the case etc when i opened it so it could be worth a try, has anyone else done it though?
Depends what the date of manufacture is. It says on the back near the serial. I'd get that 5yr thing checked out because I'm sure it's 3yrs.
No tips really tbh, aside from sending it to me
Go and warm your oven up

I've looked on the Xbox site and its 3 years on RROD.
Would you actually fix it if i sent it to you? Ha, im guessing you'd want paying for it if you'd actually do it

There's lots of capicitors, fuses and other things that you really shouldn't be tampering with when there's no problem with them. Why fuck around heating the entire board when you can just reball the GPU I know people have had results from doing the "oven trick", but it's sheer luck that they didn't do more damage IMO. It's a similar principle to how towel tricking isn't a good idea.
Come to think of it, you could get a better result than your oven method by simply disconnecting the fan with the board popped out the box. You'll find that only the CPU and GPU heat up and not the rest of the board Then after it's given you 2 red lights it'll probably work, but only for a short period, alike your oven method lol (although the xbox 2 red lights and cuts out at about 100C. I know you could achieve higher temps in the oven, but it'll still work the same and inflict less damage, trust me).
NobleOne, I'm also sceptical that you can visibly see the GPU sitting funny on the board too tbh.

Tried the unplugged fan trick and that didn't work neither.
The only thing that did work was the oven trick, albeit only for an hour.

That's because you've already fucked it in the oven. I meant when it's been first repaired, not after you've baked it to death.
Look, I do fuckin shit loads of these every week. I'm not even discussing it with you retards any more.
I've got stacks of these things.

Big fat whatever, and when you'd played it for an hour and the board had heated up again, the solders came apart again. Yeah good job.

Good job or bad its still the only thing that got it working though...
Anyways, you say you fix them. How much for? Wouldn't mind getting my spare one fixed so I can trade it in towards a new console.

If you can get it to work for an hour with an oven then that'd be enough for the store to test wouldn't it?
TBH I wouldn't like to say I could definitely fix it after knowing what it's been through.
Would charge £20. I don't really fix them for people usually, I buy them broken, fix them, then sell them. Combined with postal costs you might be better finding someone more local tbh, but you want to make sure it's someone who is going to reflow/reball (whatever therm they use) it.

Yeah coz I'm pretty sure the only way to fix is to be resoldered tbf.
Nah, it usually crashes within the first 3 secs so wouldn't get away with trading it in.

The one I have now has been fine for nearly 18 months now. The 3 I before before only lasted 10 months max before they got RRoD.
