Had to reset my computer back to factory settings not long ago. Re-downloaded itunes and logged into my account to find that all the songs were gone except one. Is there any way to get these back? (Didn't back them up onto a disk or anything ) Cheers

Something I have always wondered as it seems they don't make it easy to just re-download everything you have purchased from them.

I think if you select a song you already have it lets you know but only way of knowing what you have bought is looking through all the invoices which is painful

Were the songs backed up to an iPod or iPhone?

They're on my ipod but I have a feeling that if I sync my ipod it's going to wipe those songs too?

Not necessarily, as long as you do it correctly.

I did the same as you losing all my songs, and managed to copy the songs off the iPod. Have a look on the net for a proper guide, as i'd hate to tell you the wrong way to do it and lose your music.

Basically, you plug in the ipod and close itunes before it starts syncing. You then copy them off the ipod into a folder on your PC, set iTunes to organise the music by artist/album and drag and drop it all into iTunes. It will rename everything correctly and you'll have all the music.

Got it sorted, thanks a lot.

For future reference, I put my ipod in and I just had to authorize it and then it took all of the songs from my ipod straight into my library
