He's "quit" playing for England.
Ace.
TBH, i can't remember the last time he even pulled on en England shirt....or better still, i can't remember when he was last fit!
Who'll be next to save their dignity (because they're never going to get selected again) and "retire" from the international stage do you think?

It's an honor to play for your country, you shouldn't 'retire'

Same as Robinson IMO, he's saying you didn't want me before so knob off now, fair play. Difference betwene him and Robinson though is that Robinson should have been in the squad in the first palce and Wes Brown should be nowhere near it

Not that i give a shit about England but that's a blow imo for them, when he's fit he should be first choice right back, far better at defending than Glen Johnson
Good for united, hopefully he can keep himself fit now
Paul Robinson retired by spitting his dummy out, Wes Brown decided he wanted to concentrate on club football which is fair enough imo

Give it a break Strick - he is no where near being first choice RB

Name me an England right back who is better at defending, therefore playing in that position?

Robinson was the only one to give a dummy spitting reason to be fair!

The modern full back needs a lot more than defending to their game. Besides, browns defending has never been top draw and his ability on the ball is worse than most, so on balance he's definitely not (or anywhere near being) 1st choice RB for england.

Exactly.
Look at evra or cole - both of which are classed as world class fullbacks and all because they can get forward extremely well.

Personally i think he is decent going forward, granted not close to glen johnson but he does cross a good ball in, (champs league final for ronaldo's goal off the top of my head)
I'm happy he's retired so not going to get in an argument about that, personally i'll be happy if they stick with glen johnson to watch him get found out on the international stage regularly like in the world cup
Same with john terry

Robinson, im not playing being 4th or 5th choice = dummy on the deck
Brown, i'm retiring to concentrate on club football = not spitting dummy out
Also, robinson didn't tell Capello, brown went to the training camp hotel and told him personally
