What machine polisher are you looking at using? If you have no previous experience and plan to just go straight to your car without practising on scrap panels etc, use a DA machine (DAS-6, G220)

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing/polishing-machine/meguiars-g220-complete-menzerna-kit/prod_414.html

or http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing-machines/das-6-pro-dual-action-polisher/das-6-pro-dual-action-polisher-menzerna-kit/prod_675.html

The Pro is better than the DAS-6.

Menzerna will be more effective on BMW paint - don't expect miracles though - German paint is rock hard so will require a lot of work with a DA, but is far safer for a noobie

Yup pretty much, and check the guide here:

Saves me explaining tips! I guess the only tip would be have a decent bodyshop in mind in case you fcuk it up Just kidding

Cole - Safer polishing by DA if you have no experience is far safer as it's more controllable and builds heat up to a lesser rate which is what causes burn throughs. It's near on impossible to burn through paintwork with a DA unless you are an absolute tool.

I can vouch for a DA being hard work with German paint, spent hours and hours on my brothers black bmw.
