My Mark 3 astra 1.6 8 v estate is about knackered the osf suspensions collapsed (cup at bottom of road spring rotten). Dangerous so today at my work (vauxhall dealer) I enquired about an x plate 1.7 dti astra g estate has a years mot full service history and half a tank of diesel £150 so snapped salesmans hand off!. Thing is it has no tax. I'm fetching the car tomorrow and paying for it. Now how the heck do I tax, phoned the insurance tonight to swap the policy to the new car and asked if they could e mail or fax the insurance certificate but they said no you have to wait till get it in the post. So that could be 3-5 days so how do I tax the car I am stumped!

Might not be shown as insured for a couple of days though.

Yes. I was about to say that.

Thanks for your help guys. Just going to have to wait and get other half to take me to work. Its a ridiculous riggmerole system. Shouldnt be nowadays having to wait for the post its 2010 for fucks sake not 1910. Hate motoring we are penalised for everything and pay over the odds for everything! Bastards!

Don't get my started on taxing cars. They make it as hard as they can for us to give them money! And make it illegal if you don't!
